This flat was in an ex-council block of flats. It hadn't seen a builder for many many years. All the electrical installation, central heating pipes were ugly and exposed. Old fashioned concrete skirting boards, doors didn't add to the charm of this property either. The bathroom and kitchen were in a shocking state. The customer purchased it for himself and obviously, it had to be brought up to a current day standards.
Concrete floors, ceilings and solid walls didn't help in renovating this property. We had to chase many channels in walls, floor, and ceilings for new electrical cables, central heating pipes. And it took a while to chisel out the concrete skirting boards. The initial stage of this refurbishment was very dusty and noisy. Once we got over it, the rest was as usual - new electrical installation, new central heating installation, walls and ceilings were replastered, painted, engineered wood flooring installed, doors replaced, new kitchen and bathroom installed. The result - dark and outdated property became a modern home.
