Previously there was a quite tired kitchen and about to fall down conservatory. We were briefed with a task of building into the side return and into the conservatory area, thus constructing an L shape extension. The added floor area is not huge in square meters but clever utilization of existing and new spaces makes a sizeable difference. Motorised flat roof skylights add a lot of extra light and space. Sliding door to the side allows better use of the dining area (rather than having it in the rear wall - which normally where people want the door to be). Construction of pantry shelves with sliding doors eliminated the need of wall cabinets which normally make kitchens look a lot heavier, more cluttered - and at the same time these sliding doors complement the design of the room. Underfloor heating is always nice and it was a necessity as there was no place for radiators. This project took quite much longer than expected due to the longer than normally windows and doors lead time. In the end it was all worth waiting for.
